Switching it to vertical freed up so much counter space, and my jars of dried herbs actually stay put without rolling around. The slots are deep enough to hold standard spice bottles snugly, which is a nice change from my old wire rack.

I mounted mine horizontally right above the counter, and the easy access to jars and spices has already made cooking more fun. The way it holds everything from spices to fruit feels sturdy and well thought out.
